A Museum Especially for Children and Young People
The "junges museum" (young museum) in the courtyard of the Cultural Centre is aimed primarily at children and young people, though grown-up art lovers are of course equally welcome.
This museum is a clear contrast to traditional museums - especially because of the principle behind the exhibition design. Whereas other museums only allow visitors to appreciate exhibits from a distance, all objects in the Young museum can be touched and tried out.
A visit to the "young museum" truly is a voyage of discovery, where you can literally feel and touch the works of art, view them from all sides, smell them, play with them and experiment with them.
Something else distinguishes the "young museum" from most other museums: Laughter and noise are not only accepted - they are explicitly welcome. The exhibition rooms in the "young museum" are as much art rooms as they are play rooms, where young visitors can run around to their heart's content.
