Culture
Bottrop is home to a number of cultural highlights. The Quadrat Museum regularly attracts visitors from all over Germany, and the August Everding Cultural Centre and the junges museum (“young museum”) are also immensely popular. Bottrop’s Volkshochschule (similar to a community college) and music school offer a large number of courses in cultural and other fields. Last but not least, the famous distance-learning university, the Open University of Hagen, isn’t far away either.
